We’re thrilled to share that our Servant CEO & Co-Founder, Cecile Moulard, was recently featured in French Morning, a publication tailored to Francophones and Francophiles residing abroad. The interview is part of the publication’s “French Boss” series, hosted by Eric Gendry, which profiles successful entrepreneurs from all walks of life.

If you’re feeling ambitious and want to test out your language skills - or if the pandemic caused you to cancel your next trip to Paris - the interview is available in French in both audio and video form. If not, we’ve pulled together a short recap and key takeaways for our English speaking audience below.

The journey to entrepreneurship
Cecile details her journey to entrepreneurship, highlighting the persistence, strength and hint of luck that kick-started her career. From her early days in the media world, to launching Amazon in France and joining international advisory boards, Cecile’s wide variety of experience shaped who and where she is today. Most notably, her passion for female empowerment, diversity and inclusion. Often faced with being the sole woman in a room full of men who did not value her presence in an equal manner, she realized that she had an opportunity to change things for the better.

MixR is born
Thus, Cecile founded MixR: a startup on a mission to scale trust & belonging in the workplace by empowering employees to join, create and manage interest-based communities. She found inspiration in key figures such as Ichak Adizes and his methodology around Mutual Trust & Respect, Stephen M.R. Covey and his book “The Speed of Trust” and finally Charles Vogl and his book “The Art of Community.” One thing became clear: community is the perfect vehicle to restore humanity in the workplace and beyond.

A focus on ‘technology for good’
Communities based on shared-interests allow for meaningful, real connection - enhancing trust, belonging and psychological safety throughout the organization. Everyone at MixR is on a mission to combat common issues such as burnout and Diversity & Inclusion. In today’s world, companies are increasingly searching for ways to do good by their people and culture - and that’s exactly what MixR brings to the table.
